Volleyball Player of the Week: Alicyn Arevalo
Mendon native named Sturgis Bank Player of the Week.
Alicyn Arevalo has been recognized by the Glen Oaks Community College volleyball coaching staff as the Sturgis Bank Volleyball Player of the Week after her performances against Marian University's Ancilla College and Lansing.
The Mendon, MI, product produced 12 kills, 10 digs, four blocks and an ace in those two matches.
"Alicyn has shown incredible growth this season," Vikings head coach Tracy Sterlins said. "She comes to practice and is eager to get better every day. She had an outstanding week and continues to show her dominance in the middle of our offense. As we wrap up our conference schedule, we are looking for her continued success in the middle as well as her strong serving skills."
The Vikings host Kellogg Tuesday and Kalamazoo Valley Thursday in their final two home matches of the season. Both competitions begin at 6:30 p.m. Glen Oaks will honor its outging players Thursday on Sophomore Night.
