Volleyball Player of the Week: Kaytlin Smith
Sophomore recognized by GOCC coaching staff.
After helping guide the Glen Oaks Community College volleyball team to a home sweep over MCCAA Western Division foe Ancilla Thursday, sophomore Kaytlin Smith was recognized by the coaching staff as the Sturgis Bank Volleyball Player of the Week.
The middle blocker out of South Bend Riley High School produced 19 total kills in two matches last week, including 14 versus Ancilla.
"Kaytllin was the spark that we needed in our home conference opener," GOCC head coach Tracy Sterling said. "She dominated the middle both offensively and defensively when she was on the court. As a returning sophomore, she is known for her game day intensity and desire to win.
"We are looking forward to her continued offensive and defensive presence against Lansing at home Tuesday and on the road against Kellogg Thursday."
