LANSING — A lockdown Lansing defense led the MCCAA Western Conference-leading Stars to a 71-31 victory over Glen Oaks Wednesday in women's basketball action. Lansing entered the contest with a NJCAA Division II No. 17 ranking.
Trailing 16-6 after the first quarter, Glen Oaks got things going with 13 points in the second frame, but the Vikings could only muster 12 more points the rest of the way.
Jordyn Partee led Glen Oaks with 10 points and nine rebounds. Kulayjah Weller added nine points, three rebounds, a steal and two blocks. Jayla Parker-Vincent and Kennedy Lockett each had five points and Tracy Ackley tossed in two. Kaytlin Smith made three blocks, while Ackley and Parker-Vincent each grabbed six boards.
The loss dropped Glen Oaks to 5-16 overall and 1-7 in MCCAA Western Conference play. Lansing improved to 19-4 and 8-0.
