GRCC slips past Glen Oaks
Viking women drop home hoops matchup.
CENTREVILLE — Grand Rapids Community College picked up a 58-47 women's basketball victory Saturday at Glen Oaks with a 17-point performance by Tia Richard.
Freshman Jordyn Partee led the Vikings with 15 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers in the middle quarters. Glen Oaks trailed 26-19 at halftime and erupted for 22 points in the third quarter to cut the deficit to four points heading into the final stanza. But the Vikings could only muster six points over the final 10 minutes.
Freshman center Tracy Ackley scored eight of her 12 points in the third quarter. Sophomore Amanda Barber finished with nine points with a trio of 3-pointers, freshman Kennedy Lockett had six points, sophomore Kylie Quist hit a trey and sophomore Kaytlin Smith added two points.
Glen Oaks is back at home Wednesday, Jan. 29 for a 5:30 p.m. game against Southwestern Michigan.
