CENTREVILLE — Milwaukee Area Technical College used an explosive second quarter to notch a 67-43 victory over Glen Oaks Friday night in women's basketball action.
After trailing 12-5 through the first 10 minutes of play, Glen Oaks couldn't match the visitors' firepower in the second frame as MATC outscored the Vikings 19-5 for a 31-10 halftime advantage.
Kennedy Lockett and Tracy Ackley, both freshmen, led Glen Oaks with 13 points apiece. Ackley scored eight of those point in the fourth quarter.
Kylie Quist finished with five points, and Kaytlin Smith, Jordyn Partee and Chelsi Zyla each registered four points for Glen Oaks, which slipped to 1-5 overall this season.
Smith grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds, Kambrya Zilm and Ackley each had eight rebounds, and Lockett secured seven. Smith and Zyla both finished with three assists.
