CENTREVILLE — The Glen Oaks Community College men's basketball team throttled visiting Alpena Friday, 89-49, to improve to 4-3 this season.
Darrius Roach, Taurus Baugh and Ananias Evans each scored 13 points to lead the Vikings. William Jamison and Amauri Moore both had 11, and Nathan Keil finished with nine. Aaron Humphrey Jr. grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to go with five points. Demetrius Jenkins added nine rebounds and seven points.
Glen Oaks shot 50 percent from the field, including 42.9 percent (9 for 21) from 3-point land. The Vikings outscored Alpena 16-9 in transition points and 18-9 in points off turnovers. In total, the Vikings outrebounded the Lumberjacks 55-31.
Moore and Humphrey Jr. both dished out three assists, and Jenkins, Baugh and Jamison all had three steals.
Mike Phillips finished with four points and two rebounds, and Akin Smith added three points and four rebounds for the Vikings.
