Harris, Ash and Roach honored by MCCAA
Viking trio recognized for standout seasons.
The Michigan Community College Athletic Association recognized Glen Oaks men's basketball standouts Tylan Harris, Lavonta Ash and Darrius Roach for their accomplishments in 2023-24.
Harris, a sophomore guard out of Indianapolis, was named to the All-MCCAA Western Conference Second Team after scoring 10 points, grabbing 2.8 rebounds and recording 2.2 assists per game this past season. He also registered 24 steals and hit 76 3-pointers.
Ash, a sophomore forward from Merrillville (Ind.), was named an All-MCCAA Western Conference Honorable Mention. He finished his Viking career with 9.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this winter. Ash also had 15 blocks, 25 assists and 14 steals.
Roach also landed on the All-MCCAA Western Conference Honorable Mention Team after a great freshman campaign. Also hailing from Merrillville, Ind., Roach broke out as a rookie with 12.3 points and 4.1 rebounds off the bench. He accounted for 80 assists and 26 steals.
