Viking men hammer Lansing
GOCC runs away with league win in second half.
For 20 minutes Wednesday at Glen Oaks Community College it was a competitive men's basketball game against Lansing. In the second half, not so much. The Vikings blew the doors off the Stars in the second half to ink a 102-65 victory.
Daivion Boleware poured in a game-high 25 points and Tylan Harris followed with 23 as both were menaces behind the arc. Harris drained seven 3-pointers and Boleware hit five triples for Glen Oaks, which improved to 13-9 overall and 4-2 in the MCCAA Western Conference.
The Vikings led 50-42 at halftime and shifted gears after the break. Tyler Swanwick scored six of his eight points in the second half and Jordan Turner had 10 of his 13 over the final 20 minutes.
Like Boleware and Harris, Darrius Roach spread his production out evenly throughout the game, finishing with 19 points. Lavonta Ash had nine and Derek Anderson added five.
Glen Oaks shot 50 percent from 3-point land and 83.3 percent from the foul line. Boleware rounded out the night with 14 rebounds for a double-double, and Turner led the squad with six assists. Swanwick and Turner both finished with three steals.
