A poised Glen Oaks men's basketball team hit big shots in the closing minutes of a tightly contested game Saturday at North Central Michigan in Petoskey, ending a weekend road swing with a 73-66 victory.
Darrius Roach led the Vikings (8-1) with 17 points, including some critical buckets in big moments down the stretch. Tylan Harris was next in line with 12 points and he banged a 3-pointer with 3:30 remaining to tie the game at 63-63.
The trio of Jaylen Coon, Daivion Boleware and Jaiquan Edwards each finished with 11 points. Coon drilled a 3-pointer with 2:21 to play to give the Vikings a 66-63 lead. After a Boleware steal, Harris drained another triple with just under a minute left to give GOCC a 69-63 advantage.
Roach hit three free throws over the next three possessions to seal the deal.
Tyler Swanwick added five points, Lavonta Ash had four and Derek Anderson scored two. Boleware led Glen Oaks with 10 rebounds for a double-double.
The Vikings are back in action on Dec. 5 at Henry Ford College.
