On a six-game winning streak, the Glen Oaks Community College baseball team is back to .500 (9-9) for the season after a home sweep against Schoolcraft Wednesday. The Vikings have now won nine out of their last 10 games as conference play approaches.
Game 1
Glen Oaks 2, Schoolcraft 1
Andrew Onuegbu started the game for Glen Oaks Community College and recorded 18 outs and only gave up four hits, four walks and no runs in a six-inning outing.
Glen Oaks Community College got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Peyton Simmons hit a sacrifice fly, and Jayden Hamilton singled to center field, each scoring one run. Jackson Stewart collected the save. Hamilton went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Glen Oaks in hits. Simmons and Hamilton each drove in one run for Glen Oaks Community College. It was a clean contest defensively for the Vikings, who did not commit an error.

Glen Oaks built a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to singles by Peyton Simmons and Cohen Yoder. In the bottom of the fourth, the Vikings scoring five runs on one hit for an 8-3 advantage. Gavin Wickham earned the win for Glen Oaks as the right-handed pitcher allowed seven hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking one.
Brewer took the loss for Schoolcraft College. The righty went three innings, allowing seven runs (five earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking six. Jayden Sloniker led things off on the hill for Glen Oaks and he allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking three. Tyler Norris appeared in relief for GOCC. Corbin White, Glen Oaks Community College's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Simmons, Steven Drewyor, Yoder, Tyler Shisler, and Caleb Mallory each drove in one run for the Vikings. Glen Oaks collected eight walks in the game. Drewyor and Braeden Becker led the team with two walks each.
