In their second game of a weekend event in Vincennes, Indiana, Glen Oaks baseball suffered a tough 11-8 loss Saturday against conference rival Kellogg in seven innings.
The Bruins scored the game's first run in the bottom of the third inning. The Vikings exploded with an eight-run top of the fourth inning. The inning saw back-to-back doubles to start, followed by two more hits, two walks, and four hit batsmen. However, Kellogg matched with their own eight runs in the bottom half, plus another two in the fifth. Both teams had six hits in the game.
Andrew Onuegbu had a double and single, along with a run and RBI. Brayden Clark and Jayden Hamilton both had doubles along with a run and RBI. Brady Mescher and Steven Drewyor each had a hit, run, and RBI.
Brody Wardenburg started on the mound for Glen Oaks, tossing three innings with no hits allowed and three strikeouts, but also three earned runs and seven walks surrendered. Kellogg's bullpen held the Vikings hitless in the final three innings.
