Ed Culp is in his second stint as Head Men's Golf Coach at Glen Oaks. He ran a successful Vikings program between 1998 and 2006 where Glen Oaks qualified a player six out of those eight years for the National Junior College tournament finals. During this time the team reach the top 20 ranking in the country for the first time. Over the next 14 years Culp coached both the boys and girls varsity at Portage Northern High school, leading both programs to the MHSAA state finals.

During his coaching tenure at Glen Oaks, Culp received the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Coach of the year award in 2002. Culp also while at Portage Northern received the Division 1 MHSAA regional coach of the year award.

Last year, Culp guided Glen Oaks to spot in the NJCAA Division II National Championship at Swan Lake. 

Culp loves coaching and working with young adults learning the game at all skill levels. Ed has giving private and group lessons for 25 years. Including a successful summer class at Glen Oaks for the beginning and recreational golfer in the past.

Recreationally Culp has been the men’s Club Champion at all 5 courses he has been a member at in St Joe County and the St Joe County Champion.

Culp attended Glen Oaks Community, Western Michigan and Spring Arbor College for his Bachelors Degree -Business MGMT of Human Resources.

Culp resides and graduated from Mendon High School, Mendon MI with wife Virginia. There 2 children. Kasey lives in Louisville KY & Son Kyle lives Golden Colorado.
