GOCC softball knocks off Delta
Vikings tack on another win in Myrtle Beach.
Glen Oaks softball was victorious 3-2 Friday over Delta College in the penultimate game of their South Carolina trip. All three Viking runs came in the bottom of the first inning, which was kicked off by a Bella Monsma triple. Jaden Adams brought her home on a RBI single. Sierra Carpenter would knock in Adams on a sacrifice fly and Ava Mejia scored on an Aimee Reinhardt ground out.
GOCC would only get one more hit for the entire game, but the pitching staff held the line. Baserunners were sparse generally with neither team drawing a walk. Monsma had the other Viking hit in the fifth inning.
Reinhardt was the starter and went four innings, giving up a lone earned run in the second inning. She allowed three hits and struck out four. Brenna Meyer pitched the final three innings, giving up an unearned run in the top of the seventh inning. Meyer allowed one hit and struck out one.
